Peperomia brown spots
Plant: Peperomia obtusifolia
How long have you had the plant? 1 to 6 months
Concerns:
Brown patches have started appearing on my Obtusifolia. I only noticed it after 4 months of it being in my care.
The overall plant:
Light Situation: It gets over 3 hours of direct sun
How do you determine WHEN to water: I wait for the soil to become completely dry.
Describe HOW you water: I fully soak the soil, letting excess drain away.
What fertilizer do you use? I use IndoOne all purpose, 12-4-9
Darryl’s Analysis
Environment:
You’ve got an excellent light situation for this plant – it will grow well for you!
Effort:
Your watering strategy sounds good. When I look closely at those brown patches, they somewhat resemble a thrips infestation but I’m not able to see any other leaves. I would keep a close watch on this leaf – or to be safe, you could just cut it off now.
Expectations:
Your light is great and you’re watering/fertilizing accordingly so this plant should grow well. The overall plant looks quite good so maybe cutting off that leaf would not make a big difference in how you enjoy the plant.
